Step 1: Upload your photos

On the homepage, click the upload area or drag and drop one or more images. PNG, JPG, WEBP, and HEIC/HEIF files are all supported. HEIC photos from iPhones are converted automatically, so you don't have to worry about format errors.

Step 2: The date is filled in automatically

Photo Timestamper reads the EXIF capture date from each photo and uses it as the timestamp. If a photo has no EXIF data, the file's modification date is used instead. That means the date stamped is the date the photo was actually taken — not today's date.

Step 3: Customize the timestamp

Every aspect of the stamp is adjustable from the editor panel:

• Format: Pick a preset like YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss or write your own with tokens (YYYY, MM, DD, HH, mm, ss, and more).
• Position: Use the 9-position grid (top-left, bottom-center, etc.) or simply drag the timestamp anywhere on the photo.
• Font & size: Choose from 8 fonts and adjust the size with a slider.
• Color: Any color via the picker, or quick presets including semi-transparent white.

Changes apply live to all photos in the batch at once, so you always see exactly what the final result looks like.

Step 4: Download

Download a single photo, or use Download All to export every stamped photo as a ZIP archive in one click. The original files are never modified.

Why stamp photos at all?

Date stamps help you document evidence, organize family archives chronologically, mark progress photos of construction or renovation, and prove when a photo was taken. Because processing happens locally, you can even stamp sensitive or confidential images without uploading them anywhere.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no Pro plan, no watermark, and no photo limit. The entire tool is free, and the app can even be installed to work offline.
